Online Learning Options for Grades 10-12

Discover The Grove’s exclusive online learning solution tailored for residents of Cowichan Valley in grades 10 to 12. Choose from two registration pathways that cater to your preferences. Students can opt to stay enrolled at their current home school (LCS, CHSS, CVOLC, CSS, or FKSS) while supplementing their education with one or two immersive Grove online courses. Alternatively, families can opt for full-time enrollment at The Grove, leading to graduation directly with us.

At The Grove, we prioritize maintaining strong connections and providing unwavering support to students and their families throughout their educational journey. Experience a personalized approach to learning that sets The Grove apart in the Cowichan Valley.

The Grove Blended Program

The Grove’s Blended Learning Program helps learners find success through personalized programming, while enjoying flexibility and the opportunity to socially interact, without the restrictions of a typical school day. This program allows learners to explore and engage in their community while actively taking part in their education.

Nature Collective (formerly known as Swallowtail)

The Nature Collective (formerly known as Swallowtail) program helps inquisitive learners in grades K to 9 connect with the natural world around them while exploring their interests. They get to do this without the structures of a school day so they can foster a genuine connection between teachers, children and the natural world.

Our Story Is Beyond Education

As a District we are always challenging ourselves to be even better for our xe’ xe’ smun’eem, our sacred children. We developed this Strategic Plan through extensive consultation with students, staff, parents, and community members. The commitment and enthusiasm shown in developing this plan has demonstrated how deeply passionate our community is about the education and well-being of our children, our youth, and our community.

In the Cowichan School District, we believe...

  • All students can learn

  • In supporting the whole child

  • Learning experiences should be engaging, purposeful and reflective of voice and choice

  • In using strength-based approaches

  • In the importance of Indigenous ways of knowing

  • Strength is found in diversity
